After celebrating her 7th birthday with Oma and Opa on May 4th, Lily finally had her birthday party this weekend. She invited her favorite cowgirls and cowboys and they had fun together all afternoon. In Lily's words, 'This was the best party ever!'
Decorating the house was relatively easy as there is lots of cowboy stuff in there already. As for the rest, I just brought it home from the barn and bought a banner or two - done. :)
Ride on in, but leave your boots and saddles outside.
Cupcakes, always a favorite.
Pink boot for my little cowgirl
Lily hiding from the fireworks on her cake
Candy bar
Presents, yay!
Armed and dangerous!
Shooting practice
Games of horseshoes were played and enjoyed by all. Horseshoes curtesy of Mo. :)
Wild wild west.
Pin the tail on the cow
The biggest hit was the timed obstacle course where the kids had to ride a wild horse, jump through a hoop, rope a cow (Neil is demonstrating how), and bob for apples.
The pinata was a big hit also. This one was a tough nut to crack, it survived several rounds of getting hit pretty hard.
And, last not least, a nice little campfire where we ate pigs in a blanket and grilled marshmallows.
All the kids said they had a really good time. So did Neil and I. It was a fun afternoon!
