The extra mile ... or 140.

.
Have you heard about Rick Hoyt? He had a dream. He wanted to compete in an Ironman triathlon (3.8k swim/180k bike/marathon run - total 140miles). And he did! The first time he tried, the wind in Hawaii was so strong he was blown off his bike. But he didn't give up, and the second time he succeeded.
Rick is intelligent, charming, and he has a college degree. He also has a wheel chair and a special computer to help him communicate. And he has a father who shares his dreams and "loans" him his arms and legs to achieve his goals.

It's people like these who inspire me. Who challenge me to go above and beyond what I think I can do. Who remind me of what really matters in life. Love, respect, serving others and, most of all, God. To become the person I was meant to be, do the things I was meant to do. To go the extra mile for my own children, whatever that mile might look like for them.

And who inspires you?
